Tips for having a stylish kitchen

From now on I’m changing to English to reach a broader group of people 😀

The kitchen is probably my favorite part of the house. I big kitchen is a must for me and it also has to be really stylish decorated. When you have company over, if they always get stuck in the kitchen, you have succeeded! Here are some tips how to accomplish that.

Light colors – Nobody wants to be in a kitchen where everything is dark and sad. A kitchen with light happy colors make you more motivated to be there. I recommend using white as a base and adding a grey tone and one pastel color as secondary colors. After that, add one accent color that you use three times in the kitchen. It could be anything from flowers to a nice big bowl. Make sure to not use another color in a large scale, it just makes the room look messy.

Glass – Glass is a beautiful material that I love to use. A good tip for the kitchen is to store your dry food like oat and cereal in glass jars. It makes the room look a lot more thoughtfully done. Having the pepper mill and salt cellar in glass is also very beautiful. Another way to use glass in the kitchen is to store fruit in glass bowls. Fruits are very colorful so if they are seen, it could contribute to a happier mode in the kitchen.

Kitchen island – One of my favorite things in the kitchen is a kitchen island. It is both attractive and usable. To furnish any room not just by the walls makes it more comfortable to be in it. The kitchen island is a perfect example. Having bar stools by it is also very stylish and practical. It also gives you more room for storage which is good because a messy kitchen is an ugly kitchen:)

Wood – Wood is a very nice material to use in a kitchen. It is warm, durable and it suits everything! A kitchen with a wood floor is truly beautiful and harmonious. The only place I don’t think wood fits is as countertops. It does not last very long. Instead, I recommend stone countertops. They are truly beautiful and very durable!

Copper – Copper with its warm color adds a softness and heat that is difficult to beat in the kitchen. A copper mixer is luxurious, but there are other ways to add copper to the kitchen. Replace the handles for example, insert a copper lamp, or create still life with candlesticks and vases.
